The rankings for public universities and two-year colleges were developed using preliminary student enrollment data for the fall of 2024, which was provided by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. For independent colleges and universities, rankings were derived from student enrollment figures from fall 2023, the most recent data available from the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics.
