A report from Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University indicates that Saudi Arabia’s traditional education system currently struggles to meet the evolving needs of the labor market, resulting in a significant skills gap.

Additionally, the government has introduced the ‘Study in Saudi Arabia’ visa initiative to ease the application process for international students wishing to study in the country. This move aims to transform Saudi Arabia into a global educational hub, attracting over 132,000 foreign academics and researchers.

The Ministry of Education has also expressed its commitment to supporting education in developing nations by joining the Global Partnership for Education with an investment of $38 million aimed at equipping future generations with vital skills.

As part of ongoing educational reforms, Arizona State University and Cintana Education are working alongside Saudi ministries to create a new university in Riyadh that will offer an international curriculum and research opportunities. Furthermore, the University of Wollongong has received its license to establish a local branch, marking the first approval for a foreign higher education institution to operate within Saudi Arabia.
