In a significant recognition of excellence, universities from 15 countries and territories submitted over 400 entries for the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Arab World 2024. The announcement of the winners is anticipated for early December. This year’s awards feature 12 categories, introducing two new ones: Most Innovative Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Entrepreneurialism.
Leading Nominations
Abu Dhabi University stands out with six nominations, topping the shortlist. Following closely are The University of Jordan, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and the American University of Sharjah, each securing five nominations.
Celebrating Achievements
Phil Baty, THE’s chief global affairs officer, highlighted the difficulty of selecting finalists from such a diverse pool of nominations. He noted that those who made the final cut should take pride in their accomplishments. The awards aim to honor innovative contributions to higher education across the region.
