The Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2024 have revealed their winners, showcasing outstanding contributions from universities across the region. The esteemed awards ceremony took place in Kuala Lumpur on April 29, 2024, where Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, presented the award for Leadership and Management Team of the Year to representatives from the Izmir Institute of Technology. The judges praised the university for its clear vision in transforming the traditionally agricultural and tourism-dependent region of Izmir into a hub for innovation and research, highlighting its successful engagement with government support.
In addition to this recognition, the National University of Singapore (NUS) earned accolades in two categories: International Strategy of the Year and Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year, thanks to their innovative recruitment strategies aimed at addressing global challenges. The competition featured eighty finalists from 17 countries and territories, competing across ten different categories. Other notable winners hailed from Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
The event coincided with THE’s Asia Universities Summit, held in collaboration with Sunway University.
