The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has been ranked among the top 2% of universities worldwide and placed 63rd in the United States in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, released on October 9. This ranking reflects the institution’s academic quality, research output, and various other key metrics.

Global Classification

Globally, the university is classified within the No. 251–300 tier out of over 25,000 higher education institutions. The top 500 universities globally are considered part of the world’s top 2%.

Evaluation Criteria

Times Higher Education evaluates universities based on 18 indicators, which include factors such as teaching reputation, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry income. The organization provided rankings for the top 174 universities in the U.S. and the top 2,092 universities globally.

Leading Universities

The University of Oxford retained the top position for the ninth consecutive year, followed by institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Princeton University, and the University of Cambridge.
